October 2011 Work is to commence on the interior of the chapel at the RSH Hospital. The pews and other furniture are to be stored off site during the work. The interior plaster was in the 20th century inappropriately painted with plastic based emulsion causing damp to be tramped and the plaster to blister. This as a first stage in the preparation work to be removed. It is estimated that the work including testing for anthrax spores in the horse hair binding of the plaster will take about 6 weeks.
